Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington resides in the US. She is a Greek-American writer, syndicated columnist and businesswoman. She is a founder of The Huffington Post and the director of Thrive Global. Author of more than 15 books. Arianna Huffington is a writer, television personality, philanthropist and also the proprietor and publisher of The Huffington Post. Originally from Greece she was able to move to England when she was 16 and graduated from Cambridge University with an MA in Economics. As the first non-English speaking student, she was elected President of The Cambridge Union' at the age of 21. Her popularity as a conservative columnist was consolidated after she finished her degree. After the launch of The Huffington Post a few years later, she created an online platform for voice that gave critical opinions on the political situation. Her popularity enabled her to get a variety of famous people to share their opinions regarding current affairs, the as well as politics and culture. Arianna became famous after she decided to run as an Independent candidate in the California Recall Election in order to succeed the Governor Davis. In addition, she directed a Detroit project that promoted fuel efficient cars. Forbes identified her the most powerful woman in media in 2009. Her ranking was at 12th place on their list. The Guardian added her to the top 100 list of media outlets in the year 2009. AOL purchased The Huffington Post from AOL in 2011. Then she was appointed the president of AOL's media group. It was comprised of several AOL owned properties like Engadget AOL Style List and Patch Media. Her parents were journalist and management consultant Konstantinos and his wife Elli Stasinopoulos. Even though she was close with father, her relationship with her mother shaped the course of her entire life. When she was a teen she displayed leadership qualities which she is still renowned for. As a 16-year-old the girl moved into England in the United Kingdom for her higher education. She attended Girton College Cambridge. She enrolled in the Cambridge Union college debate society during her time at college and was the third and first female to hold the position of president. She graduated in 1972 with an MA in Economics. The career of an anchor and reporter was born after graduation. Also, she appeared on the series Face the music along with Bernard Levin and began writing books with editorial assistance from him.
