Dolly-Parton
Dolly Parton was born on January 19, 1946, at Locust Ridge Tenn. She was raised alongside 12 other kids. Her vivid imagination allowed her to escape the pressures of daily life. Before she learned to write and read, she had already composed her own music. At the age of 8, she got her first electric guitar and began singing on the Knoxville Tenn Radio Station. The that same year, Gold Band Records was a small independent record label. Although she was studying, she established a name for herself in the local music scene. Her goal was to be able to make music on a bigger size. The day after she graduated in 1964, she relocated to Nashville. Dumb Blonde, Something Fishy and Dumb Blonde both charted on Monument Records in 1967. Porter Wagoner, a syndicated television show host at the time, was in search for a girl to sing for his program. Parton signed with RCA Records and then joined the Grand Ole Opry. She was hired in the year 1967. She quit Wagoner's act in 1974 after her own singles such as Joshua Coat of Many Colors and Jolene outsold the collaborations. Parton composed I Will Always Love You for Wagoner following their split. It made it to No. The first time in 1974.
